Project Description
As Ghana becomes the focus of port operations and the center of minerals and natural resources in the West African sub-region, the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) with the support of the Ministry of Transport has contracted Amandi Investment Limited to develop the multipurpose Bulk Jetty of the Takoradi Port into an Ultra-Modern Dry Bulk Terminal.
The new development in Takoradi is meant to increase Ghana’s manganese and bauxite export, and the importation of clinker and other cement-related bulk cargos as well as make Ghana the leading destination for Dry Bulk Cargos sector investment in Africa.
The project includes the design and construction of all jetty infrastructures:
- Pavement of the bulk terminal area for heavy duty transport ,all related infrastructures and utilities, (Paving of the bulk jetty allows operation of heavy duty equipment, a final layer of paving blocks to allow durability overtime and easy maintenance).
- Main access road
- The Manganese and the Bauxite stockpile areas
- Design, supply, install and commission the main conveyor systems which will run from the vessel berths to the clients’ stock pile areas.
- Implementation of SCADA Control System
- Operation’s administration building for the staff operating the entire facility
- Temporal stock staging area
The Dry Bulk Terminal is equipped with all necessary utilities according to international standards including water supply and water reservoir, HV and LV electrical power system and substation, firefighting system, storm water drainages, security systems, SCADA system for control and monitoring.
